Description:
QlikView Designer I is an introductory course covering all the basic knowledge required to get started building documents with QlikView. The course is a mixture of demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Topics include user interface layout and design fundamentals, best practices and how to create a QlikView document with sheets, list boxes and charts.

Course Outline:
• Short introduction to QlikView
• Layout and design fundamentals and best practices
• What to consider when designing a QlikView document
• Definitions and uses of: sheets, sheet objects, list boxes and table boxes
• How to create the QlikView objects mentioned above
• How to use them to solve business problems such as sorting data, entering data, exporting data
• How to create charts in QlikView
• Chart properties, how to edit the format and layout of charts
• How to load a simple list of data into QlikView
Learning Objectives:
• Basic understanding of the QlikView product suite
• Introduction to layout and design fundamentals and best practices
• How to build a QlikView document using sheets and some of the common QlikView objects such as list boxes and table boxes

QlikView Designer II

Description:
This course complements Designer I. The course is a mixture of demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Designer II takes students to the next level, focusing on user interface layout and design, best practices and reporting. Many more QlikView objects are used, such as gauges, multi-dimensional charts, tables and others. Students build their own QlikView document in a case study exercise at the end of the class.

Who Should Attend:
Business Analysts, QlikView Designers, QlikView Developers
Course Outline:
• Introduction to multi-dimensional objects: pivot and straight tables with
multiple expressions
• Advanced charts and objects: tree views in list boxes and mini charts
• Advanced calculations: introduction to Set Analysis and AGGR functions
• Other useful objects
• Reports: creating and managing information
• Business case workshop
Learning Objectives:
• Understand and implement document design and layout best practices in creating the user interface of a QlikView document
• Develop complex reports and use multiple and more advanced objects in QlikView documents
• Understand and use time-based analysis
• Hands-on business case with real-world examples summarizing both Designer I and Designer II course content. Student builds a working QlikView document on their own.
